The Church's Calling

If non of you know I'm a HUGE church goer, I believe that through the church are faith can grow and become stronger, that the community and mindset there impacts us to make the right decisions. Now some of those listening might not agree with that, you might be thinking right now that the church is broken, or its hypocritical, or it elite, and you know what? Your right! Sin has entered this world and it has torn apart everything, not one thing left in this world is clean. But what is the church? Is it a building with a cross? Is is an establishment run by "holy men"? No. The church is believers. WE are the church, each and everyone of us. That is why the church is broken because WE are broken. But you know what now your thinking 'Then WHY do you think the church is important?! WHY should I lean on broken people to fix my broken heart?' And the answer isn't exactly easy. You see because of our broken view of what the church is we can sometimes mistake religious buildings and people as the church, and they aren't. You see I said that the church is BELIEVERS, there for they are followers of christ. And it breaks my heart, but there are churches out there that have people who say they believe in Christ, but do not follow what he preaches, and what is belief if you don't act on it? A REAL church is one that is filled with people who not only believe in Christ but act upon it. They strive to be more like christ to bring him glory.
My Mom sent me this video today. Easter. It talks about how sin is in everything and about our freedom from it through Christ's crucifixion, and about his bride-the church. and there is one point in this video where he talks about Jesus and his "radical Christianity," radical meaning heart changing, life changing, EARTH CHANGING! You see Jesus was so hated because HE SHOOK IT UP! He changed things, he broke the rules so that he could FIX the rules, he was different. And you see TRUE Christians are Christ followers, they are those who live and strive to be like Christ. They are Radical Christians. They shake it up! They let God and his word into every part of there life, they let if change how they act, react, feel, think, and see. They are DIFFERENT! They stand out among the crowed. They have a presence that screams love, mercy, joy, and forgiveness. AND THAT IS THE CHURCH! That is Christ's Bride. The Radical Christians, and you see when you DO spend time with those who are radical christians there's something that happened in that. There's something about working together to become more like Christ, and being around others with that goal. Christ comes down, and blesses those relationship and those people. And thats why I believe in the Church, because that is where God is - in his bride.

May this bring life and joy into your faith and may you have a happy Easter!
Love, Tori
